The 9th Annual Burns Lake Show & Shine had fantastic weather, and we all know that great weather is a recipe for success at a car show! A record turnout of 56 cars (57 if you include the mini-Vette!) filled the Spirit Square with car guys and spectators taking a look at the various vehicles from collector cars to current classics.
The Poker Run was a bit long this year but still, a large number of cars went on it, including Don Gillespie and his beautiful Kenworth truck. And of course, the best part of the show is the barbecue, hosted by Dave and Verna Hopper on the shores of Burns Lake.
There are over 200 photos in the Photo Gallery - feel free to check them out! Some are from Heather, some are from Linda, some are from Diondi, some are from Kristi, and the aerial shot is courtesy of Frank Bergen who flew over around noon when most of the cars were in the field. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the show in any way!

Well, the heat could have been dialled down a tad, but the hospitality of the Village of Fraser Lake, from the Mayor and Council to the Village Staff to the various businesses around town was beyond compare!
Organizer Kerry Jantz did a phenomenal job of pulling everyone together - which he says was helped considerably by the support of the Village office.
After a great tour through the village, including stops at sponsors who offered everything from snacks and drinks to fire safety tips and photos of our classics, we gathered at White Swan Park for lunch on the Village!
A few photos are up in the Gallery. Enjoy!
Several of us Lakes District folks made the trek to Cache Creek for the Graffiti Days events and the Old Time Drags at Ashcroft - what a great weekend it was! Photos are in the gallery. Lots of nice cars, and an amazing number of "tri-five's" were in the area. We got a good cruise in during the Poker Run on Friday night, and the Saturday is a HUGE cruise with several miles of classics lined up just outside the racetrack before driving down into Ashcroft and back to Cache Creek.
I gotta say, Vanderhoof outdid themselves this year, their 30th Annual event! The show was a little less busy, but following it up with the perfect length cruise out to Darrell's place on Braeside for a BBQ afterwards was just awesome!
We had six cars from Burns Lake (Cliff, Bob, Jerry, Byron, Kristi and Chris), so were well represented again this year. And I think we all had fun, although a few of us got a little sunburned...
Photos are in the Gallery - enjoy!

UPDATE: Unfortunately we got shut out as the highway was closed due to the wildfires at this time. We'll try again in 2015!
