A full history of the Burns Lake Show & Shine
Kent Lambert from the Southside area of the Lakes District organized a small Show & Shine in September, 2006, at the old Nordic Ford lot (currently owned by Lakes District Maintenance), at the west end of town.

It was decided to switch the show to July, and in 2008 we chose to try the Overwaitea parking lot, which was quite a big larger. Again, it was a fun show (in spite of a few rain showers that had one car owner scrambling for his car cover at every rain drop!). But we felt like we had lost the Cruisin`the Dub feel.
A nice addition in 2008 was the free barbecue for car show participants, hosted by Dave and Verna Hopper of
Plans were put in place to return to the A & W in 2009, but to utilize a different part of the parking lot. We had cars from Smithers through
Luckily we had Dave and Verna hosting the barbecue again, which soothed the ruffled feathers and was quite an enjoyable outing. Their place is right on
After much thought, it was decided to approach the Village of Burns Lake to see if we could use the newly finished Burns Lake Spirit Square, a beautiful park setting built with Provincial Grant money offered to increase community spirit with a quality gathering place.
